The KEYS Program

The Daniel Barden Mudfest was created in memory of Daniel Barden, one of the first-grade students whose life was taken during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in December 2012. The event was founded by family members whose niece was inside the school that day. While she escaped unharmed, she lost her dear friend Daniel. In the face of unimaginable loss, Mudfest was born as a way to honor Daniel’s life and carry forward the values he embodied. Daniel is remembered as a kind and gentle child who treated everyone with respect and joy. He had a zest for life and loved the outdoors, sports, and getting muddy. Those simple joys are at the heart of Mudfest.

This year 1/2 of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the KEYS Program! We are so honored to be a part of this beautiful event. We would love to have our KEYS supporters…

KEYS kids, their siblings and parents are invited--- and the KEYS kids are welcome to bring a friend too!

On February 27th, 3,610 people in 18 states wore their Heart On Their Sleeves in honor or memory of loved ones AND we hosted our first Sweetheart Dance at the KEYS Studios for our KEYS kids and their families. Check out all these hearts and SMILES!!!
